Katja's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Katja had to have unexpected emergency surgery this week. I am thrilled to say she is feeling better! Unfortunately when a working dog retires it is the full responsibility of the handler to pay all costs and take time off while having to acclimate their newly retired K9 partner to an entire new life. After living in a kennel and working for years on end these dogs are brought home and retired. It can be a difficult transition for some of them and a trying time for their concerned handler/owner. Since retirement a couple months ago we have been trying to figure out some GI issues and separation anxiety, which has resulted in numereous vet visits, prescription foods, and meds. I usually do not like to ask for help but the ongoing costs have added up and her surgery was costly. Any help we could get would be amazing. Katja worked her butt off for 9 years and I am so proud of her and want her to have the best retirement possible because she deserves it! So I am trying my best to make that happen with some help from our always supportive family and friends.
