Katie's Honduras Mission

As many of you know, I am currently working towards my Doctrate of Nursing Practice at NorthShore University HealthSystem School of Anesthesia.  I am currently in my clinical residency and anticipate graduating in August of 2018!!

I have received an opportunity to volunteer and travel to Honduras with NorthShore University HealthSystem School of Anesthesia faculty and 2 peers from my cohort. Our brigade runs from January 6th thru 13th, 2018.  We will work with Holy Family Surgery Center to provide anesthesia to surgical patients in need, at no cost to them.  

The money I am raising will go towards associated coses of the trip including airfare and a dontation to the Holy Family Surgical Center.  Part of the donation is used to board volunteers, while the other portion is used to keep the surgery center running. 

I have been volunteering for Special Olympics since I was in high school.  This has always been something near and dear to my heart.  To use my clinical experience to give back to those in need is something I haven't personally done, but am excited to take this adventure for those in need.
