Katie's Kidney Transplant

Last Christmas, Katie was diagnosed with Anti-GBM, a rare, autoimmune disease that destroyed her kidneys. Over the last year she has been living on dialysis, fighting for her life. The search for a kidney donor for her has been a struggle due to her very high antibody counts. Finally, after testing every family member, we found out that David, Katie's brother, is her perfect match. They will both be undergoing major surgery and will need extended recovery time after the transplant. Although they have good insurance, the medical bills, time out of work, and cost of child care for Katie's girls will pile up.
