Katie's Theta Chi Fundraiser
Tax deductible
Hi! My name is Katie and I am currently a freshman at the University of Washington and a very proud member of my sorority, Alpha Delta Pi. I am planning on double-majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and Spanish.
I am competing for the title of Theta Chi's Dream Girl and in doing so am raising funds for their philanthropy, the Kyle Charvat Foundation. All funds and donations will be given to the Foundation to be used to provide financial assistance to young adults diagnosed with any form of life-threatening cancer. I am hoping to raise $2,000 by April 4th.
Young adults generally do not have adequate financial resources to afford high medical bills. Most charitable organizations target young children and this leaves young adults in a somewhat anonymous group. For those that suffer a catastrophic medical condition requiring medical care beyond what insurance will provide, there is often nowhere to turn to fund medical treatment. The mission of the Kyle Charvat Foundation is to lend a helping hand to those unfortunate young adults.
I am running for Dream Girl because this cause is especially meaningful to me, as I am working towards a future in cancer care and research. Until I can start my career, I want to play a strong role in supporting cancer patients in any way I can. Supporting the Kyle Charvat Foundation is a great opportunity for me, and I am incredibly happy to be able to represent my sorority at the same time.
