On July 14 2017 our good friend, Katie Maki, who's been a caring and devoted employee of Flyaway for the past 8 years, had a devastating brain aneurysm and remained at TriStar Medical Center in ICU for the past 25 days. She had 4 surgeries. 1st, to repair the rupture with 2 coils. 2nd, to place medicine directly on the aneurysm area to stop / reduce baby and major brain spasms. 3rd, to place a permanent shunt in her brain to reduce swelling. 4th, to place a Trachea in her neck. On August 8th Katie was moved to a private room where she will continue recovery, treatment and therapy. There will be challenges ahead for Katie as she strives to regain her strength, stamina, and resolve to return to her life's journey. Our deepest desire is for Katie to return to her family here at Flyaway and be in the best of health and happiness.
As Katie recovers, she will have major rehab expenses. Once she is able to start work again, she will need a car and a place to live. Her car is worn out and is always having issues. I know because I have worked on it. Two days before she had the stroke, she moved into a new rental home, but had to give it up while in the hospital.
Your financial help is greatly appreciated!
