Kathy was 26 years old when she was thrown from a car and landed on her head, breaking her neck. Doctors told her she had 10 years of life left in her— 44 years later she is still alive! But the accident left her as a partial quadriplegic, bound to a wheelchair.
Kathy did not receive any kind of settlement from the accident, leaving her to struggle financially for the past 44 years. She is only able to afford a care taker to get her out of bed in the morning, and to put her to bed at night.
Lately, her body is growing tired. She has been in and out of the hospital for months. Her most recent hospital stay was over Thanksgiving. Although she has recently been cleared to go home, she will now be left in bed around the clock. She will only be tended to twice a day, in the morning and at bed time, to be changed and fed.
