Kathleen's Emergency Accident Fund
Donation protected
While travelling to drop my daughter off at university we got into a horrible accident. We had just left my son who we dropped off at University of Ottawa. We were on the 401 driving through freezing rain when there was an accident involving multiple cars. Luckily we are alive and were able to get out of the car. All of us were travelling at a slower speed due to the weather. No one was charged or at fault, it was simply due to bad weather conditions. We were taken by ambulance to a hospital in Kingston. I am a cancer survior, I have had 3 different types of cancer and over 14 surgeries. The accident was really hard on my body, especially since I have a full titanium jaw. After driving for 35 years and paying for insurance, they are refusing to pay for our expenses. Because the accident was no one's fault and due to weather conditions, the insurance company is not paying for the hotel stay, trips to and from the hospital or food. As a single mom of 13 years with no family, I have no resources to take care of this. Because I depend on my vehicle to drive myself to treatments, doctor's appointments, and to see my children, I am trying to raise some money to purchase a used vehicle as well as help with the accident expenses. Any type of donation would be greatly appreciated. We are in an emergency sitaution, stranded in a city five hours away and trying to deal with what happened. The car was totalled and I have nothing left.
