Kathleen Addison's Breast Cancer Journey

Many of you  know my childhood friend, Kathleen Addison. A sweet, caring, one -of-a-kind friend that would  help anyone  is now in  need of your love and support.   On March 14, 2019, Kathleen was diagnosed with an aggressive  Stage 2 Breast Cancer. A diagnosis that would turn anyone's world upside down. Upon finding out her diagnosis, her surgeon worked quickly to refer her to an oncologist and immediately scheduled her to have a chemo port placed. She then began chemotherapy on April 5th.  For the last 5 months, as she has received weekly chemotherapy , she has continued to work and care for Abigail trying to keep life as normal as possible for them.  She received her last chemo treatment on August the 19th and is currently waiting for surgery September 23rd that includes bilateral  radical breast mastectomies with bilateral lymph node biopsies and also bilateral breast reconstruction. She has amazed her doctors with continuing to work  during such harsh chemo treatments and has made sure she kept everything  going for Abigail and for herself.  After surgery, she will not be able to work for at least 8 weeks. Her oncologist will decide on radiation therapy depending on the pathology results from surgery.  Radiation treatments- if needed will be Monday - Friday for 6-8 weeks.  As a single mother of a child that has Common Variable Immune Deficiencies , to which there is no cure , the medical bills have always been a very real thing to Kathleen . She has worked per diem - although working full time hours so that she could care for Abigail and be available for her many appointments and to be fully present as a mother to her . Abigail is truly her world and loved very much ! Therefore, she has no benefits thru her job .  Her medical insurance for both Abigail and herself are a private policy in which Kathleen pays out of pocket. 
Kathleen has been a nurse for 21 years caring for others whether prepping them for surgery , caring for them in surgery , or recovering them after surgery. She has worked at Baptist Hospital, River Oaks Hospital, and Central MS Medical Center.  
Kathleen has not let breast cancer dictate her life as a parent or nurse.  She will tell you that she has tried to keep it moving so that Cancer doesn't get to take anymore from her than it already has . 
Please help me raise money to help her during this difficult journey of fighting cancer.  All donations will go toward helping with medical expenses accrued thus far as well as medical expenses that will come with surgery and help with all bills while Kathleen is unable to work .  If you are unable to donate, any and all prayers and words of encouragement are welcomed. She knows and truly believes that God has a greater plan for her and her life .   Her favorite Bible verses thru this season have been Mark 11:24  - This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer - be convinced that you have received it and it will be yours .  And  John 11:40 “Jesus *said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”  Kathleen will tell you she is claiming her cure and that God has blessed her in so many ways during this cancer journey .  
‭‭ ‭God has placed some truly amazing people in her life during this time.  To which she will tell you is no coincidence - they have been placed for her by God .  People who have shared some of the same  journey she's currently on will stop her and tell their story,  offering her hope and encouragement.  I am watching my friend walk in faith, trusting God daily to strengthen her during this time as she continues to praise Him thru the storm . 

Faith does not mean trusting God to stop the storm, but trusting him to strengthen us as we walk through the storm.
