Kathleen Piorkowski Cancer Fund

Over a year and a half ago, Kathleen Piorkowski was diagnosed with Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma or EHE for short. This illness is an extremely rare and painful form of cancer that grows from the cells that make up the blood vessels in our bodies which then attack the lungs and liver.

Since the diagnosis, Kathleen has been in and out of the hospital many times. These have included many trips to the emergency room, meetings with cancer doctors, and medication trials and errors, all seeking to help manage her EHE and help mitigate her pain. Because Kathleen is on a daily chemo, it requires her to go in for monthly labs and scans.

This medical journey has been very trying and overwhelming for our family as we work together to find our new normal. However, as her treatment continues, our medical bills have also increased. With this being said, Kathleen’s current condition doesn’t allow her to work as her pain and discomfort are too intense. Her husband Ken, has needed to be by her side on her most difficult days, so he has to take unpaid time off as he is entirely out of PTO.

This current season is extremely financially taxing on our family as we attempt to pay day-to-day bills on top of very large, ongoing medical bills. It would be an incredible blessing to our family if you would consider supporting us in this difficult season.
