Katherine Stubbs Memorial Music Fund

This is my beautiful mother Katherine Stubbs. She is the most loving, compassionate, caring, and impactful individuals that anyone could ever be fortunate enough to encounter. More over, you wish that your children could be graced my her love. That is because she has dedicated most of her life to exposing children to the gift of music. Throughout the community, she has always been viewed as one of if not the most passionate and influential people in her community.

One year ago, she was diagnosed with glioblastoma. My mother and everyone around her have been completely devastated by this terrible disease although her warrior spirit continues to fight, we are against a huge uphill battle.

She has always harbored two true passions, children and music. While going through treatment the past year I would often ask her why would you want to go back to work? You are so tired and so dilapidated you need to rest. To that she would respond, that is the one place I truly feel alive. Since she is no longer able to teach we thought how could we best preserve her legacy and show how much of an impact she has had on not only the community but the entire world. Every year she would ask the state for grants that could provide instruments, music lessons, and teaching tools to supplement and already underfunded program.

I would ask if you have a child who has been impacted by my mother or if you were someone who has been impacted by my mother or you would just like to help our cause, we are creating a fund in her honor to provide the necessary funding that she would ask for every year so that future generations can benefit from all of the programs she would fight for which will leave an everlasting impact on the community and forever preserve the legacy for one of the most special people in the entire world.
