Kasia's cancer fight fund

Donation protected
Is this story extraordinary? Apparently not, Kasia like many others has been diagnosed with cancer. Campaigns around make us believe that cancer can be beaten, but in this case, the diagnosis is devastating: glioblastoma multiforme stage 4, in a location that cannot be operated on, giving her a life expectancy of just several weeks to several months…

And it all started like this:

Kasia's life began to fall into place. The wedding in 2015, the birth of a second daughter Zosia early this year and just after that, minor problems with visual acuity, which was explained by fatigue and recent labour effort. Kasia would sometimes forget the words, pause for longer than normal before replying to questions, but she thought she just needed more sleep. Her assumptions at first were confirmed by an optician who prescribed her stronger glasses. The GP also said that everything was fine.

In April 2017 Kasia also developed balance problems. We started to suspect multiple sclerosis or Lyme disease. Two months after the first symptoms, Kasia finally got to see the neurologist, but unfortunately she did not have a chance to get the results back as strong headaches and sickness made her visit A&E in hospital where she was retained for observation and investigation.

Things started to rev up. A scan revealed a huge tumour in the very centre of the head. Then a few hours surgery relieved intracranial pressure to bring temporary relief. Kasia was weak and even though she was still hospitalized, she did not seem to get any better. In the meantime, problems with speech and balance were increasing. Kasia also had a biopsy done and had to wait for long 3 weeks to get the results back. You already know that they were the worst possible...

The story is unusual, because Kasia is the mother of 5 year old Monika and 4 month old Zosia, dreaming to be a part of her kids life as long as possible. She is also our best friend. We have gone through a lot, but this time we need YOUR help! With possible alternative therapy, there is hope to extend Kasia's life for another few months or years and to reduce the pain and side effects that the cancer has sown in her head.

We ask for any, even a little help as every pound counts. Also, please forward this message onto your friends. The more people are informed, the bigger chance we have of collecting the amount Kasia needs.

Thank you very much for your support,
