Karen's New Shoulder Operation Fund

Hello,
I'm Karen and I'm currently on a 3 year NHS waiting list for a 'Total Reverse Shoulder Replacement' operation.
I started having pain and immobility problems in my shoulders over 4 years ago in 2013.
Following numerous steroid injections, physiotherapy sessions and surgery on both shoulders, my Orthopaedic Consultant has recently discovered that part of my problem is genetic, and I was born with a deformity resulting in a missing muscle in the area. Arthritis has now set in my shoulder and the best outcome he has recommended for me is a completely new shoulder.
This will involve a 2-4 day stay in hospital, followed by a recovery period and physiotherapy.
There is a long waiting list for this surgery and I am in constant pain and unable to perform many simple tasks with my right arm, such as; washing, drying and dressing myself, eating, cooking, general housework and driving. Luckily I have a wonderful husband who has been caring for me.
Due to this, I have decided to take matters into my own hands and try to raise funds myself in order to pay to have the operation done privately, by the same surgeon, but much sooner than the NHS option.
I am sad to have to do this, but I hope people will understand the situation I am in, and that the prospect of another 3 years in pain and inconvenience is not something I wish to suffer.
I do hope that you will be able to help me raise funds for the surgery by making a donation here, however small.
