Karen's Breast Cancer Fight

In August 2017, we were blind-sided with the news that our beautiful Karen, wife and mother of two daughters, was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.  What began as a lump in her breast, that potentially could be managed with standard treatments, quickly spread into her bones and liver.  The prognosis from her oncologist was nothing short of dire and would have broken the spirit of most anyone, but not Karen.  In fact, this glum cup-half-empty attitude simply fanned the flames of Karen’s indomitable fighting spirit!  

With her family by her side, Karen flew to Scottsdale, Arizona in November 2017 where over 4  months she undertook a comprehensive treatment plan at a private medical centre.  The therapy Karen received yielded remarkable results and sparked hope. However, Stage 4 cancer has a very high probability of reoccurrence and long term survival rates are not great.

We now intend to adopt a powerful strategy to dismantle the enemy. Our goal is to  travel to  Mexico where the newest immunotherapies will harness Karen’s own natural defences to destroy cancer cells.  Unfortunately, this technology is costly and is not yet available in Canada or the U.S. but we feel strongly that this is the wisest choice at this time.    

As we look to build on what we have accomplished so far, with positive energy we are reaching out to friends and family to solicit your support (in any way you can)  to help our amazing wife, mother, and friend on her journey to defeat cancer.
