The Karangalan Scholarship Committee proudly announces the release of its annual fundraising campaign for the 2017-2018 school year
Karangalan is a Tagalog word that means, “pride, dignity, and honor”. The Karangalan Scholarship, sponsored by the friends and family of the Filipino educators of the Sweetwater Union High School District, will be awarded to outstanding Filipino American senior students in the Sweetwater Union High School District who have demonstrated excellence in academics and community involvement.
Our goal is to raise $5000.00 to honor the academic achievements of our district's Filipino -American seniors by giving at least one scholar from each of the 13 high schools in the Sweewater Union High School District a scholarship to assist them in their post-secondary journeys.
We count on the generosity of donors toward our mission of ensuring the post-secondary academic success of every Filipino-American senior recipient of this scholarship.
