Hello. Thank you for taking the time to read this campaign. I do not like asking for help because I would much prefer to be the helper but that is not possible. I will go directly to our story:
My 11 year old daughter has significant mental health issues. They greatly impact her daily life and threaten her well being. I have struggled for nearly 6 years to get her the appropriate help. I live in a small town area and there are limited resources here but I have never given up.
I need a new psychological evaluation for her in order to obtain the appropriate help and for the doctors to consider a recommendation of hopsital admittance. Please keep in mind that a mental health illness can be as life threatening as any other severe (physical) childhood disease. The picture is one of the few times I have seen my daughter smile in the past year! Please help me to get her the assistance she needs to get that spark back in her eyes and smile back on her face.
The insurance has denied the psychological testing she needs. I need help to cover the cost out of pocket because her well being cannot wait. She does finally have an appointment with a pyschiatrist at the end of the summer to try to help with her medications for her mental illnesses.
We must travel far to another area of our state. Because I have SLE and HPS, I cannot currently drive so we will need to pay our driver. My daughter will not use any type of transit service due to her severe OCD and social anxiety. I will need to buy her some meals on the road and we will need to pay for one night of lodgings.
I run a Facebook page for children's mental health awarness and advocacy. I am doing all I can to help our children. But sometimes advocacy is not enough. I will pay forward any help you all provide because it could truly transform or even save my child's life.
