Kami and Tim's fire recovery fund

Donation protected
On their way to burning man, after finishing a tour in Idaho, our friend's 1962 Airstream caught on fire and subsequently caught their truck and all their belongings on fire. They escaped safely with only the clothes they were wearing, a phone, Tim's mandolin, and Kami's purse which had both BM tickets. Both vehicles, all their belongings and the musical equipment inside were all destroyed.

Tim is a full-time musician, and that's primarily how he supports himself and his family. It all works out, but it definitely isn't always luxurious. He used the airstream as his touring vehicle and as a place to sleep when playing out of town gigs. So this is a major loss on their part. He had to cancel a number of shows due to not having a vehicle to use (he lost his truck as well).

The vintage Airstream that originally belonged to his family will never be replaced, but we are hoping to suprise him, and try and help him get some sort of replacement vehicle and equipment, and show him some of the love of the communty he's been offering us and putting out in the world for so long.

Already, people have been so completely amazing! When everything burned up on Jungo Road, about 30 miles outside of Burning Man, they were considering how to get out of there and back to Utah. A few friends convinced him and his wife Kami to finish the trip and come in to Burning Man. It took a few hours for the fire dept. to get the vehicle fire out, and it took a while to complete the last 30 miles of the journey, but things were already coming together for them. One of the only 3 cars to pass the burning Airstream on that dirt road was Logan, and he gave them a ride all the way to our camp. We had already found a tent, bedding, and cooler with some food and drinks and had it all set up and ready. The Burning Man community helped with the rest.

Afterwards, they got a ride back home from some friends. While he had to cancel a few events, he's since been lent a truck and some spare equipment, and luckily his main P.A. was in a bandmates car, and so he and his mandolin have been back playing gigs.

Tim and his family will be fine. They've already been reinvigorrated and so impressed with the generousity of people that we sometimes forget exists, and that one only discovers in a crisis. But it's hard enough being a working musician, and when something like this happens, it gets even harder.  As an example, Tim has health  insurance for his children, but has had none for himself in years. If any of you can relate to this and are in a position to help out with a small donation, I'm certain Tim and Kami will be incredibly grateful and amazingly overwhelmed.

Thank you all for any support, and for taking the time to read this. If you want to check out some of Tim's music, here's the link: https://www.reverbnation.com/timdanielsmusic
