On September 1st 2019, I went and got my routine lab work done for chemo the following week. I got a call later that say telling me that everything was ok, but my bilirubin level was a bit elevated. My oncologist said not to worry, but to come back and have the labs repeated prior to chemo day. Well, low and behold, the bilirubin was still mildly elevated but the rest of the liver labs had at least double . I recieved a consult to see a gastroenterologist and to have a ultrasound of my liver done. The ultrasound didnt show anything acute happenin . It took a couple weeks to get into the GI Office. I had the most excruciating pain between the day of the ultrasound and that following Saturday where my son and husband finally convinced me to take a ER trip in the middle of the night. I didnt realize I was jaundiced until the ER RN said something about i . That early morning they told me that my bili was now 6.8. My CT scan showed I had diverticulitis, colitis, or any number of gi tract issues going on but  nothing new in the liver. With the majority of that pain being in the lower abdomen, I didnt understand why my liver was acting up too? I was given IV fluid, pain medicine, and told to follow up with my regular Dr asap! I had already missed work...one of many more that will be missed. My husband also missed more than a week worth of work to take care of me. When you live paycheck to paycheck, one day can have a huge impact on your finances. In this case x2! Sept 10 , I met with a local GI Dr. The next day I was having a ERCP at ocean springs hospital. A stent was placed in the left duct, and slowly my bilirubin started to go in the right direction (9.5-6.2) I was discharged home that day. even though I still felt bad, I would feel better in my own bed! By monday I was feeling that Pain again...and here comes the itching!!!!! I had a follow up appt that Wednesday. My lab work that day showed the bili went up to 13.2 Now it's time to hit the road jack!  We are going to Ochsner Thursday oct 3rd. I dont know what the plan is or what the heck is even going on. But these people know my guts more than anyone. More loss of work for Carlos. I'm now on short term disability. If I'm not admitted, that means hotel stays and buying food from restaurants. Gas money, other travel expenses, etc.  I know I've reached out for help before, and I was hoping it was the last. But i want to get better! I'm not one to give up I'm a fighter! If nothing else, can I please ask you to pray for my family. It cant be easy watching their mom/wife change 50 shades of orange please share so I can get as many prayers as possible Thanks in advance♡ The Demelos
