Kalynne's Journey to the National Team

To my family, friends and basketball fans:

I am a proud representative of the Philippines National 16U and 18U Basketball Team candidate pool from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is an extreme honour to be given the opportunity to play for the country my family comes from.

For four weeks in May, I participated in the 16U Philippines national candidate pool training camp with 22 other girls from Canada, US, and Australia. In August, I will participate in the 18U national candidate pool training camp. From there, they will select the top 9-12 players from that pool to compete in FIBA Asia Cup in India during the week of September 5-11, 2022.

My journey began when I tried out in Los Angeles, California, in March 2022. Being in the same room with many talented girls with the same passion was amazing. My experience thus far has been and will be fully documented and produced as the Documentary. I am looking to my family and friends for assistance with contributions to assist me in helping to offset the high cost of participating in this FIBA Philippines National Team. Funds raised will help me with the training, travelling and other international expenses. I thank you for your thoughtful consideration of my request.
