Kalani Johns-Alonzo

It is never easy losing a loved one, the deep pain and inability to understand why something like this could have happened.
It is an entirely different type of grief to lose a child. The unbearable pain felt by the mother and father is unmeasurable.
Kalani Johns-Alonzo was the goofiest, sweetest, smartest young man I have met in a long time. He had the biggest 11 year old heart. He loved his "mommy" Mercedes and dad Alex so absolutely much. He was always expressing this through acts of kindness, pushing their buttons, and always ended each conversation with "I love you, mommy" or " I love you, daddy".
Kalani was such an amazing brother to Amari and Maliah, he protected them with everything he had and made sure that they were always taken care of and safe. He was their biggest advocate and encouraged them to do and be better everyday.

Kalani was an amazing family member. He was the light of the room and everyone flocked to him.
Kalani was a leader by nature, children around him young and old clung to him and listened to his guidance.
At his sisters preschool, he was often seen helping with the little kids, reading to them at story time, guiding them in lessons. Kalani had a love of teaching.

Kalani was an amazing athlete who wanted nothing more than to be in the NFL, and this boy had an arm! He was always practicing his touchdown dance so he was ready for the big leagues.

Kalani excelled at everything he set his mind to. He loved being challenged academically, physically, and emotionally. He was one heck of a kid.

The Johns-Alonzo family is grieving tremendously right now and we are asking for donations to help with the funeral expenses. To bury a loved one is difficult enough. To bury your child is something a mother or father should never have to do, especially at such a young age.
Kalani is a beautiful angel in heaven now and giving God a run for his money. Kalani will be looking down on his family and friends to make sure they are happy and healthy.

Until we see you again sweet boy.

Please follow the link if you are looking to assist in meals for the family.
Since there are 2 other children we are also looking for snacks, and breakfast foods like cereal, bagels, and other meals that are quick to make.
