July of this year, my son Kaimana was diagnosed with a pituitary cyst. Its a mass that's pushing on his pituitary gland in his brain. The pituitary is the master gland who's job is to distribute hormones throughout the body. Because of this Kaimana has been on a strict medication plan. In September he started having severe headaches (chronic), tremor-like shakes, blurry vision, and even fainting spells. It is now necessary to remove the cyst.
Kaimana and I will be leaving sometime soon for California where he will undergo neurosurgery to remove the cyst from his brain.
We don't know what the logistics are; what does the surgery entail, how long will we be gone, when will he be cleared to fly home? Being a single parent, I will be traveling with him and away from my other children, grandson, and work.
I am asking for donations to help with medical and living expenses there and at home.
Kaimana's hope is that we'll go to Disneyland before heading home...that's a given!!
I hope that everything goes smoothly and that the headaches, shakes, fainting will go away with the removal of this cyst.
