Kailea and Jirehs journey to recovery

Donation protected
On April 8 we flew out to Jirehs appointment at Shriners hospital in Oahu to find out his surgery date got moved to an earlier time due to some complications. Our son was born with amniotic band syndrome. Those who know Jireh know that nothing stops him. He’s a strong happy boy who has brought nothing but Joy to our lives. He will be undergoing his procedure to separate his toes and fingers that are attached on May 14. April 8th we flew back home just in time to meet our daughters Kailea and Halia at their wrestling practice. That’s day kailea got tackled down pretty hard but got up and shook it off. On April 10 I headed to pick up my daughter from school and was alarmed that she was found in the bathroom complaining of stomach pain. We took her to Maui memorial thinking she must’ve gotten hurt from that tackle on Monday. After 4 hours they informed us that a large cyst was found in kaileas stomach between her pancreas and gallbladder and she was also suffering from pancreatitis. They informed us the cyst would have to be removed immediately because of how large it is and the fear of it becoming cancer in the long run. We got medavac to Oahu that night. Kailea underwent a 7 hour  surgery to remove the cyst on  April 19th and is currently in Kapiolani hospital on Oahu in recovery. We hope to fly out early this week so she can start her road to recovery and we can start making plans for our younger sons surgery three weeks from now. After Jirehs surgery he’ll be in a cast on both legs and right hand until he fully heals from his surgery. This unexpected medical emergency has come in shock to our family. We’ve been by kaileas side to help her through it all. All this has prevented us from being able to work and we’ve left our children in the care of relatives. As their mother I have made the decision to stay home for both of their recoveries which might take months and will minimize my time to work my current full time job. Jojo will be able to get some hours in when we head back to Maui till we have to be back here in Oahu but it is a step back for us . We humbly ask our family and friends to help us with the upcoming medical bills and expenses.
