Kaia's Heart, Get Kaia to Boston

Please help us get Baby Kaia to Boston. Kaia F. Vavia (Robinson) is in need of a Mitral Valve Repair urgently. She is home from her hospitalization at UNC hospital to recover from her respiratory infection and her Mitral Valve leak remains very severe. The cardiologist have said she needs to get well and have surgery within a month to 6 weeks. She had a valve repair via open heart surgery (which required cardiac bypass) in December and the repair didn't hold.



Boston Children's hospital offers an alternative procedure in the cardiac cath lab, where they insert a "melody valve" in place of the mitral valve.

Kelly is a single Mom with no support from Kaia's father. Kelly has no more paid time off from work. She has exhausted her PTO being out with Kaia's previous surgery & being out of work when she had spinal fusion surgery. She was only able to work 6 months last year due to her spinal fusion surgery & Kaia's surgery.

If we are able to accomplish surgery in Boston Kaia & Kelly will need funds for many trips back & forth for check ups, heart caths, etc.
