Help our community band together so Kaerla can complete her countdown to college graduation THIS SPRING!
She's worked extremely hard, maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.52, and earning all A's in her fall 2019 semester. Her goal, to earn her BA in English Creative Writing and begin working on a college campus, is almost within reach. She has one last semester of college, and is on track to graduate in May of 2020.
She's shown a HUGE commitment to achieving this goal, maintaining continuous enrollment and academic progress despite ongoing personal challenges, including the deaths of both parents, and the recent death of her beloved long-time partner.
But she's run into a financial roadblock, and without financial help, will not be able to finish this achievement.
During her time in college, she's supported so many - assisting with study groups, providing emotional support, connecting with alumnae visiting campus, and literally working on campus as a trained First Responder for the Fitness Center.
She's been here for so many - let's pull together for her now. Any amount will help, and your shares on social media will help as well!
What are the parts of the goal?
$7,000 for tuition, needed ASAP so she can stay registered in her spring classes.
$2,000 for housing, also needed ASAP so that she doesn't start the semester by becoming homeless.
$9,000 for a semester of living expenses (including housing). This would take her through June, providing a little time post-graduation to find a job and begin her next steps.
What is SHE doing to achieve this goal?
She's utilizing multiple forms of financial aid, including scholarships, loans, and need-based aid - however, that aid has recently been reduced, just as she approaches the finish line! She is also working an on-campus job to help cover her daily living expenses, while still attending school full-time.
