Kaelin's National Spelling Bee trip

On Saturday, February 21st, our oldest daughter Kaelin competed in the South Texas Regional Spelling Bee with about 100 area students. She is a 10-year old 5th grader and was competing with kids up to eighth grade.
She did an amazing job and won the competition after 7 rounds of spelling and was awarded 1st place, which allows her to go on to compete at the National level. Out of over 11 million students at the local level across the country, only 300 spellers in the entire country make it to the national competition (and she's one of them!)
Kaelin will compete in Washington D.C. In May. For those who may not know her, Kaelin is a big hearted, kind and generous young lady who could not be more deserving of this honor!
The local sponsors will pay for her and 1 parent's hotel and airfare to the competition, but mom and dad would both love to be there for this once in a lifetime experience! Kaelin has requested one of her siblings to attend as well.
The Scripps National Spelling Bee is a week long event and includes numerous activities for the spellers and their families, but D.C. is expensive and we could use some help in making this trip a reality for the family.
