Kacper's battle with leukaemia

Hi, my name is Natalia, and I'm fundraising for my dear friend's son Kacper who is fighting leukaemia for the second time in his life.

Kacper is 17 years old and was first diagnosed in September 2020 during a routine check-up after surgery. In August 2020 Kacper was a victim of a machete attack in Southend-on-sea. He had a big wound on his leg, and doctors had to operate on him for three hours. A few weeks later, Kacper fell ill and ended up in a hospital, suspected of having anaemia or possibly a viral infection. Unfortunately, further tests and bone marrow biopsy confirmed that Kacper had acute leukaemia. He stayed in the hospital for chemotherapy for months, missing out on his education and preparation for GCSE exams. He has lost his hair, went through a deep depression and suffered unimaginable pain. In the middle of his battle, his parents had to move out and find a new family home. It was a terrible time for them all. But Kacper fought really well and started getting stronger in February 2021. In March, he rang the bell at Great Ormond Street Hospital and briefly returned to school to finish his exams. He started further education at a local college and even going to the gym. In June 2022 Kacper and his family received the worst news - his leukaemia had returned and he needed a donor for the bone marrow life-saving transplant. After the first round of chemotherapy, he has lost all his hair and suffered a burst cyst on his bladder. And that is just the beginning of his journey....

I am planning to fundraise for Kacper's future. After finding the matching donor and a sucessful bone marrow transplant, Kacper's life will be full of restrictions. He will have to be on a special diet, his education, social life and eventually work will never be the same as the healthy person's. Please help Kacper have a better chance in future. Thank you
