Hi I'm Kaci, I turned 10 yesterday and my birthday wish was to help others get what they need. I've decided to raise money for Newlife by doing a sponsored walk.
Although I look like you, I find it tricky or it takes me a bit longer to do what you take for granted.
I was diagnosed with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy when I was 15months old. I've decided to walk to a neighbouring village and I'm going to try and do it without any help of my walking frame. It's 2.4miles one way but I am challenging myself to walk there AND BACK which is a total of 4.8miles.
I've had to have help from other people my whole life and i've needed equipment to help me become Independant which is why I have chosen the charity NEWLIFE.
Newlife provides thousands of items of equipment every year to help children with cancers, birth defects, accident, diseases and infections get the equipment they need that local authorities won't provide for. In Leicestershire there are 19 disabled or terminally ill children that need Newlife help, they need US. Newlife needs to Raise £16,203 to provide all 19 children with equipment they urgently need to help reduce pain, prevent their conditions worsening or to help them do every day tasks you take for granted.
I will be doing my sponsored walk on the 31st JANUARY 2021.
