Kabuki's ER Hospitalization

Kabuki was rescued from a shelter back in 2020. Having been abused by his previous family and finding his way into a shelter because they were no longer interested in having him, he had a tough start in life. Bringing him home was the best decision we ever made. He’s brought us so much happiness over the years and we love him so so much.

Over the holiday, Kabuki started not eating and vomiting up everything he did get down. We rushed him to the vet, who sent us to the ER right away after taking some x-rays and bloodwork that didn't explain the problem. At the time, they had sedated him, but when we arrived at the ER, his heart rate was at 20 BPM, so they rushed him back and reversed his sedation. It turns out that Kabuki had final-stage kidney failure and could not tolerate normal sedative dosages. The two of us were in shock, expecting that he might have eaten something he wasn't supposed to, not this. Our boy is only four years old, and we were told he only has weeks to months left and we are devastated. We are doing everything we can to ensure that Kabuki is comfortable and getting everything he needs in whatever time he has left with us, which we hope is much more than the doctor predicted.

It would help us a lot if we had some help paying off this ER visit, so if something else were to happen and he needed to go again we can afford to do so. We are grateful for anything. Kabuki is our baby, and we want to be able to do everything we can for him.

We paid with Care Credit, so the bill itself is set. It would just be incredibly helpful to have help with paying this off so we can open up the credit line for future care if it's needed.
