Help Chris Get Back on His Feet!

Hello, I am raising funds for my good friend and long-time climbing partner, Chris Van Leuven. He asked me to help him with this as it is a bit emotional for him at this point. All funds will be directed straight to Chris and will help him get back on his feet.

Chris lost his home in the Oak Fire, which ripped through his hometown of Mariposa on July 22, 2022, burning his home and most belongings to the ground. Not only is he displaced and lost much of what he owned, but he also was diagnosed with a pretty gnarly auto-immune disease last week.

Chris needs financial help as he is starting over with nearly nothing. He needs to replace much of his belongings, find a new home and will need to invest a lot of resources to battle this auto-immune disease.

Chris has spent much of his life immersed in the outdoors, especially within the climbing community, where he has been a firm fixture for decades. He is a recognized writer within climbing literature and generally one of the happiest fun humans out there!

He had established himself in the small town of Mariposa, where he spent most of his time writing in his cute little cabin in the country and recreating in his backyard/Yosemite National Park. He hopes to get back to this peaceful life.
