My children would like a chance to live in peace

Hi, I am Rania, married to Adel Al-Ashqara, Palestinian from Gaza.

I’m reaching out to you seeking your help for me and my family from the horrors of the relentless war that have been ongoing in Gaza for 6 months now.

I am a mother of three beautiful young children, Age 9, 7, 4 , named Ahmed, Mira, Lana respectively.

I had a normal, quiet and quite happy life with my husband and my children until last October.

We used to have the perfect life, a beautiful home that we worked years to build and decorate. As we still have to pay the installments from the value of the apartment.

My husband worked in an insurance and investment company,which has been destroyed now.

After the 7th of October, my whole life came upside down due to the war on Gaza.

The first five days we were in our apartment in Gaza, the bombing was everywhere around us.The war became fiercer and we were afraid, My children were crying and screaming due to the continuous shelling and explosions.One night, the bombing, shells and missiles around us intensified, so we were forced to flee to a school belonging to the UNRWA, we narrowly escaped death This was the first displacement, the conditions are dire- we struggle for basic necessities like food,water,medicine and clothing.

A few days later, we received a threat to evacuate the school as it was located in Gaza and move from north to south. We were forced to leave our homes and live under the threat.There’s no safe place in Gaza, we can be bombed at any time and anywhere across the strip. Displacement is hard on adults, so it's unimaginably harsh on children who are not able to understand why they have to move from one place to the other, the reason there are some basic day-to-day things that keep changing, such as water to shower, food, water, being enclosed without going out and of course the noises of the war planes and raining bombs.We moved towards the south and lived in a tent. Living conditions were very difficult, especially in providing basic necessities.

Amid all of these horrors,

we received a message from a neighbor that my apartment had been bombed, had simply turned into ruin and destruction. All the buildings next to us and the surrounding areas of the neighborhood were wiped out. In a few minutes, life wasted. Home, savings, friends, neighbors, memories, all gone in the blink of an eye.

My greatest concern is my children, their future, where they will live, study and grow up. There’s nothing left in Gaza, all life sustaining means are now destroyed. My children’s future became blurry and dark. We had dreams, me and my husband, for us and for my children. We dreamt of a simple, peaceful and bright life and a successful future for my children. We all have the right to have a normal life and my children deserve a normal childhood and a bright future like other children worldwide. We should be able to provide our children with the essentials for a normal life, such as safety first of all and material needs such as food, clean water and clothing and also education. These are the minimum rights of a child.

In case this war gets to an end, we need to restart our lives, in Gaza or preferably outside where we can find safety and peace. In Gaza, we have no place to live any more and the rebuilding will take years and a huge amount of money. Outside Gaza, we need the money to get out and a reasonable amount to start somewhere.To be able to find a safe place for my children where we can have a safely future alongside their parents, I would greatly appreciate your contribution to donate and share this donation request, so, it can reach the highest number of kindhearted people and we can get a good amount of money to provide my children with what they deserve.
