The easiest thing for me to say is that I would go to just about any length for my dog, Sirius. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not only an overall complete animal lover, but an absolute freak about my own pup. I don't spend very much time apart from him, seeing as I work from home and when I do go out into the world he pretty much goes everywhere with me. He really has become my unofficial service dog, and has gone through a lot with me in the couple years I've had him. As I'm bawling trying to frantically figure out how to pay for this surgery, he is not so politely nuzzling my arm and whining trying to figure out what's with all the stress and sad energy going on!

Sirius tore both his anterior and cranial crucial ligaments and chipped a bone while hitting a snowbank chasing after a ball the first weekend of the New Year. For a 4 year old lab/retreiver mix who's used to getting outside and getting good quality exercise & doggie social time everyday, this has obviously been very hard on both of us.

From unforseen major car repairs to massive medical bills on my own hands, paying for a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery for my furbaby was NOT what I had in mind starting off the new year. Making ends meet is hard enough without this pending surgery, and that's been hard enough to admit to myself, much less finding myself reaching out for help.

I've exhausted as many financial options as I can possibly think of and research, and yet everything is coming up short. The vet told me the surgery would cost baseline $3k (seeing that number makes me cringe).

So I'm swallowing my pride and reaching out to the Interwebs for help. I know so many of us would go to the depths of the earth for our pets (myself obviously included). If you have the means to give, every little bit helps. I never want someone to feel put out in any way, but I've seen the power of a financial miracle come together many times on this and similar sites; I'm hoping it can do the same for Sirius and I.
