Support Francia's Fight!
This campaign is on behalf of Francia, whom I met years ago, back when we went to college. She soon became a close friend that I knew I'd keep for life.
Francia moved back to Mexico shortly after college. She is an elementary school teacher. She's 28 years - I like to say young - as she has barely gotten started on life as an independent adult and has so much yet to accomplish. Unfortunately, something I dare say we all hate, has threatened her chance to do so, and that is cancer!
Back in December 2017, she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. In the months to follow, she underwent two lumpectomy surgeries to extract the cancerous lumps. Right now she's undergoing chemotherapy to rid her of any remaining cancerous cells.
As I mentioned, Francia is a teacher, who like the majority in that field, does not make a lot of money and used to live paycheck to paycheck. Due to the treatments she's received and her severe side effects to them, she had to stop working. Her medical and living expenses do not stop though, and they have been adding up. And I should mention, financial assistance from the government is not something you can count on over there.
So here I am, asking you to please find it in your heart to help out Francia during this difficult time. Fighting cancer is something we all hope and/or pray never to have to deal with, either for ourselves or a loved one. It's a fight for life and it takes a toll on all aspects of it; money is something that shouldn't be a factor in that fight, but it is.
