Paul & Danielle Waters

Paul and Danielle had been married 11 ½ years when he was diagnosed with a “low grade astrocytoma”, a malignant brain tumor, last October 2017. He completed ten weeks of radiation therapy, followed by three months of chemotherapy. He was started on anti-seizure medications after the tumor began to cause seizures. Despite the biopsy saying it was a “low grade” tumor, it continued to grow. Paul has now been given three different chemotherapy drugs and none have slowed the tumor growth. He had to reduce his work hours last winter, and had to completely stop working in mid June. As the tumor has continued to grow, his speech has been affected and it is very difficult for him to get the right words out. His right side is very weak and his ability to walk is now affected. Danielle has taken a leave from her job to be with him and she is waiting to get approved for FMLA, which will only be a percentage of her regular pay check. They were told to apply for social security disability, and although Paul was approved for it, he is not eligible for any money for another five months. In the meantime they have a mortgage to pay with all the monthly bills that go along with a home; never mind the medical bills. The tumor continues to grow and is now a “grade 4 glioblastoma”. Life is very stressful for them right now and if any one can help out to relieve some of the financial stress, it would be much appreciated.
