Hi Family and Friends; I am doing A Go Fund Me for my niece; (Laurlyn)and her new born baby(Charlie Rose) and my sis (Melinda)
On May 19 of this year Laurlyn at 27 yrs old went into the hospital to have her baby. She was sooo happy.
On May 20..some 13 hrs later she was taken for a C-Section. The first round of meds Did Not numb her; so a second dose was given. Laurlyn then went into Cardiac Arrest twice while medical teams try to resucitate her; they are also frantically trying to get the baby out!!
Charlie Rose was born but she did suffer seizures for a week and had to be sent to children’s hospital with machines all hooked up to her and nobody could hold here.
Laurlyn was not so lucky. For the next week; she lay in a coma.. completely unaware of anything! And we are being told that its possible she could remain in that state. This is a living nightmare for my sister(Melinda) (Josh) the baby’s Father and the rest of us. Laurlyn has Brain Damage due to lack of oxygen while giving birth.She has Hypoxic Brain Damage! ,She doesn’t remember anything and cant believe she has s baby. It is absolutely heartbreakung to watch.She is in rehab to learn to walk,talk, feed herself ,bathe herself etc. She is pretty much learning to do everything over again. My Sis had to take leave from work to look after Charlie most days while the Dad tried to work. My Sister has the baby a lot and EI just isnt enough. My Sis is tirelessly working with Neurologists.and teams of Drs ; all while trying to help Laurlyn. They believe physically she will recover at least 80-90% . However they unfortunately cant tell us if her brain will fully recover.
Please give if you can and help suppor my Family in this time of tragedy and uncertainty. The money will help with the cost of having a newborn as well as with travel back and forth to hospital. It will be well put to use in this terrifying time.
