Edge of homelessness ...

My name is Kent, and I thankfully don't need your money. But I know a family that could really use our help.

You hear about the working middle class living on the edge - one major setback away from homelessness. Well, I'm watching it. A single parent with a strong work history of 10+ years is temporarily between jobs, and now dealing with potential eviction. A 3-day "pay or vacate" is already issued. This family needs our help right now.

The need: $1500

The hope: that maybe even some more would come in, because groceries and other day to day needs also exist.

The future: this family is so close to being back on their feet. A new job is already offered and starts within days. There is also property that is being sold for a significant amount of money. This family will be fine in 60-90 days, if we can just find a way for them to not lose a home in the meantime.

The plan: when the mentioned property sells, there will be a sizeable amount of cash in the bank, securing the near future. At that time, every penny of whatever has been contributed here - by you and by me - will be donated to a shelter for women and children. Your money will effectively only be borrowed by this current family, then will go to support needs of even less fortunate, less equipped.

The family you're helping today looks like your friends and neighbors. These are typical middle class America and you'd never look at their day to day situation and guess that they are 72 hours from homelessness.
