40% OF LGBTQ REPORT LIVING IN AN UNWELCOMING ENVIRONMENT.
There is a dire need for a program which caters to the needs of the older population, where they will feel safe and get to celebrate who they are with other like minded people. To envision the stars and stripes of the American flag aligning with the Rainbow flag to become one.
A major task is to provide emotional and psychological support to a community who is already low on the totem pole, along with providing advice, services and well-rounded activities. They will become self-sufficient and a productive part of society, fitting in like a glove to a hand.
This population, just like any, deserves to live their best lives. They should be provided with an environment that is loving, and stable, and most importantly inclusive of all their needs. With a motto of; “What happens when youth services dries up, WE DO!”.Open Rainbow Residence (ORR) will be providing supportive housing options to adult members 21 & up of the LGBTQ community by offering a safe and stable environment along with guidance. We prepare our residents to shape a future characterized by hope, self confidence, dignity and purpose.
Funding will be going towards the purchasing of a building to renovate into a supportive housing program .
