Last night my dear mom lost her home and all of her belongings in a terrible fire.  She was at home tending to her fireplace when she saw smoke coming from the furnance and quickly turn into flames. The fire was uncontrollable and quickly engulfed 70 percent of her house before help arrived. Most importantly, no one was hurt, and for this we are so thankful. Its been a tough road for my momma, but she never fails to pick up the pieces and put her trust in the Lord and keep going. It is comforting to know that the material things that we lost can be replaced, but our hearts hurt as we remember pictures of our family, sentimental things that belonged to my little brother, and the little things you become attached too.  This house had been a home for my mom and my older brother, Rob, for just a couple years, but the sentiment was bigger than that. My mom has moved in and out of rental houses for many years, it has been a journey for her to try and settle somewhere and finally make her home, and this house was finally her home! Before we lost my little brother, Sam, three years ago, he would  repeat how it was his dream to buy my mom a home one day so she wouldnt have to worry about ever moving again (he knew how she hated moving more than anything). When Sam died, the Lord provided just enough insurance money from the car accident to buy my mama this house! What a testimony it was to all of us, that Sam was able to do what he said his dream was, and that was to buy my mom this home.  That meant more to my mom than any house she would ever live in. But through this disaster we are learning that we cant hold on to the materialistic things, and we still have eachother, and will help eachother get through this obstacle as well.  Sadly, my momma didnt have insurance on her home, so we are desperate for help. It is going to be a long road ahead, but we have faith that everything will be taken care of and we will make it through this! The Lord has never failed us and we know he is going to carry us through this tough time.  We are asking for your prayers, clothes, furniture, blankets, and any donations! We are so thankful for our family and friends, and overwhelmed already with all the help and concern we have recieved so far. My mom was able to grab a couple picture frames of my little brother, and has the clothes she was wearing, everything else she lost. Rob, my brother, lost all his clothes as well. Please contact me, Christina, (901)598-2363 if you would like to help and need clothes or shoe sizes, or would like additional information to help. Much love to you all, we thank you thank you thank you!
