HELP TYLER PUT THE "CAN" IN CANCER

Donation protected
Tyler was diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal B-cell Lymphoma January 2, 2015. He had a large mass that covered his right lung, part of his trachea, and lying on the Superior Vena Cava, which is a vessel that carries blood from the upper body back to the heart. The mass was so large that it filled the entire upper right side of his chest, roughly dinner plate sized. Because of it's size the mass was also pushing his heart further to the left.

I initially took Tyler to our local hospital with shoulder pain, difficulty breathing, cyanosis, and facial swelling. After x-rays and a ct-scan the doctor told me that he had an enormous mass in his chest and he thought it might be a lymphoma and there wasn't a local hospital that could handle what Tyler had. He gave me a couple of options and I chose Children's Mercy in Kansas City, MO. I knew Tyler would recieve the best care there and have some of the best doctors in the country available to him. But this hospital is two and a half to three hours away from our home.

Tyler's treatment plan is two weeks at home and then drive to Kansas City for a one week admission to the hospital in order to receive chemo 24 hours a day for five days and one day of rehydration. Fevers and the need for emergency blood transfusions may send us on extra trips to Kansas City. The car I have has over 130,000 miles on it and requires maintenance, a tune up, new brakes, and if the squealing is any indication a new power steering pump. Plus the gas back and forth and any other surprises. There are a lot of medical supplies that I have to buy now and I would like to feed Tyler fresh fruits and vegetables to help his immune system out. The chemo destroys it. If enough money gets raised I would also like to buy Tyler a new bed because he's never had a new one and his is in need of replacing. Another thing I would like to do is buy him a computer for his virtual school program. I really want to try to keep him on track for graduation.

I am a single mom on disabilty, I was going to college but I have to put that on the back burner until Ty is healthy. We don't qualify for SNAP benefits and we were struggling to make it before cancer. We are struggling even more so now. We aren't looking to profit from Tyler's cancer, we just want to survive it. Any help is appreciated greatly.
