Amy Elio tragically and suddenly lost her life to cancer. Amy was admitted to the hospital for joint pains and jaundice-she was diagnosed and the cancer spread rapidly and aggressively throughout her entire body. 7 days after being admitted, Amy passed away in surgery-preventing her only child from saying her goodbyes to her mother.
Amy left her husband and high school sweetheart, Augie and her 29 year old daughter and best friend, Ashley. Those of you that knew Amy, knew how much she absolutely adored these two. Even at 29 years old, Ashley woke up to an Easter basket, a Valentine’s Day gift and gifts from Santa. Amy did whatever it took to make the people around her happy. She was always lending a helping hand and never asked for help in return.
Due to her sudden death, the Elio family is struggling not only emotionally but financially as well. Ashley’s father Augie, suffers from his own health issues which prevents him from being able to work. Like most women of the household, Amy took care of all finances. She did not plan for her life to end early and did not prepare financially for her family. Augie and Ashley have accrued thousands and thousands of dollars in medical bills, funeral costs and have uncovered an enormous amount of previously unknown debt.
Ashley and Augie, like Amy, will not ask for help on their own. So, on behalf of the Elio family, I am asking you to do as Amy would do- let’s help this family. Losing your mother and wife of 40 years is heartbreaking- they should not be stressed and burdened with the fear of severe financial debt. Any amount helps.
