Justin McGregor's Boating Accident

Please help my grandson!  I am an Army vet with tours in Vietnam, Korea and Germany. On June 11, 2016, my grandson, Justin McGregor was involved in a catastrophic boating accident. He was airlifted by LIFESTAR to Savannah Memorial University Hospital. The team of doctors determined that to save his life they would have to amputate his right leg 10 inches above the knee. After the prop chewed up his right leg, it cut a 16 inch path across his stomach miraculously sparing vital organs. It completely went through the stomach wall in 2 different places. He completely bled out and had to be given 8 pints of blood. Justin wasn't supposed to survive the flight to the emergency room, but God had other plans. He spent almost one month in ICU, the hospital and rehab.

His financial resources are nearly depleted with medical bills, medical equipment and medical supply needs facing him daily. He needs a new wheel chair that fits him.  He needs to work out a way to pay his huge hospital and rehab bills. This does not include all the doctors, anesthesiologists, and the cost of the helicopter flight. Then there is our largest financial concern- Justin's prosthesis. We have been told that it will cost at least $40,000 with the average lifespan of a prosthesis being 3 years. In the first year, we have been told that the residual limb changes size which will mean replacing the prosthesis because it no longer fits properly.

We have never asked for help and have always tried to be of help to others. I never thought that something like this would happen and I would be asking for help. But I desperately need help for my grandson, Justin McGregor. Thank you and God bless you. I will keep you in my daily prayers.
