Our family’s worst nightmare came to light on Saturday afternoon; when my 7-year-old little brother, Justin Lee, was hit by a truck while riding his bicycle. After being rushed to the hospital in Harlingen, he was airlifted to Driscoll’s Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, later that night. Justin was in surgery within minutes of landing.
For the last few days, Justin has been in critical condition because of the damage he suffered. He has lots of bone fractures and severe internal damage. Currently, Justin is in the PICU and is facing extensive medical treatments. At this time, I humbly ask our family and friends to help my family during this difficult time. It’s not easy to ask for financial help, but the time away from work and from home have carried a high burden of cost. Please find the space in your heart to give what you can. No amount is too small.

La peor pesadilla de nuestra familia comenzó el sábado por la tarde, cuando mi hermanito de 7 años, Justin Lee, fue atropellado por una camioneta, mientras andaba en su bicicleta. Fue llevado de urgencia al hospital de Harlingen, debido a la gravedad de sus lesiones y posteriormente se le traslado vía aérea al hospital Driscoll de niños en Corpus Christi, a cirugía de inmediato. Múltiples fracturas y daños internos le tenían en estado muy crítico. En manos de Dios y de los médicos estaba su vida.
Actualmente se encuentra en PICU (unidad de cuidados intensivos pediátricos). La familia Ruiz, por este medio pide humildemente a familiares y amigos una ayuda financiera, ya que el costo es grande y el trabajo se suspendió por estar al lado de Justin, y mantengan su fe y oraciones en el. Jesús dijo a Lázaro, levántate, y se levantó. Pedimos a Justin, levántate, aquí te esperamos.
