Justin Sayre's Memorial Fund
Donation protected
On 12-18-17, loving father and Honolulu Police Officer Justin Sayre suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. He is survived by his three sons, Riki, 19, Tatsuki, 16, and Liam, 3.
Justin started his career serving our country in the United States Navy and was stationed on the USS Belleau Wood as well as the USS Independence. Justin spent a majority of his military career in Japan.
After the Navy, Justin continued to serve the community by joining the Honolulu Police Department’s 161st Recruit Class in 2008. He spent his career patrolling the Kalihi area as well as in the Narcotics/Vice Unit.
All who knew Justin will tell you that the main focus in his life were his three children, particularly his youngest son Liam, who his love for and bond with was exceptionally strong.
Justin has no immediate family in Hawaii, as they all reside in the U.S. mainland. It is unknown at this time what the extent of funeral, family travel, and all around expenses will be.
I am Justin's HPD classmate and friend. Still currently employed by HPD. Officer Nicholas Schlapak (close friend of Justins and Godfather to Liam) is the beneficiary of these funds. Nicholas will be withdrawing and using these funds to assist with funeral costs (cremation, venue, food, flowers). He has set up bank accounts for all three sons, and any residual funds will go into seperate bank accounts for the boys to access.
