Justice Vanguard - Invest in our Future

Our organization, Justice Vanguard, was founded on the principle that we can build stronger, more-supportive communities through education, purposeful action, and open conversation.

Our motto is “on the front lines of education”, and we like to say, “solving racism and inequality with a smile.” An integral part of being an organization that is driven by education is always striving to learn more and be better. We are dedicated and hardworking individuals making positive changes in our communities.

Juneteenth Community Festival

We are Black-owned, Black-run, Black-done. The JV Juneteenth Festival features businesses, including Wineries, Breweries, Food Trucks, Organic Cocoa Butter, Smoothies, Desserts and more. The event showcases a range of incredible performers and speakers.

Blackalaureate Scholarship Fund

The Justice Vanguard Blackalaureate Scholarship was founded in 2020 to reward young, bright Black students who have demonstrated a dedication to learning both within and outside of the classroom and who have a passion for humanity and the betterment of our society and world. A $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to one Black MVLA graduate per year, covering first-year costs of books and college supplies.

Scholarship Goal - $12,500 per year ($2,500 per student for 5 students)

Movie Night Club

Building a community for movie-goers who learn, celebrate, and grow together! Monthly movie night features Black and brown: directed, acted, written or featured movies and stories. These movies can range from historical to educational, to comedy, and more. They provide an open and safe space to experience different films and conduct a constructive conversation and thought.

Conversations with your Friendly Neighborhood Black Guys

Semi-structured discussions on the intersectionality of race, ethnicity, and the human experience. Featuring Black Panthers, Stanford Professors, Renowned Philosophers, Community leaders and much more.
