Justice for Dan, Jeanne, and baby Hana
My heart is broken for my brother, Dan, his girlfriend, Jeanne, and their son, Danny. They lost their baby, Hana Song on Monday, August 17th.
They were in the maternity wing at Grand
Strand Hospital in Myrtle Beach. My upset
stretches further at the fact that Dan and
Jeanne were met with discriminatory
treatment the day of the delivery, and lack of
care even prior to the date of delivery. Jeanne
was sick much before her delivery date, with
failed attempts to receive proper treatment
and the baby’s well being checked while in
utero. Jeanne was rushed it of the hospital
after cesarian section shortly after her
procedure, and sent home with little to no
post care supply or instruction. My brother
was not updated or allowed to be with Jeanne
or grieve the loss of their daughter because hewas the “random Asian guy in the hallway”
who was given no regard as a person let alone
the father of the baby.
Jeanne and Dan were rushed out of the
hospital, no time to recover physically or
emotionally, and no time to sit with their
infant, to even process for a moment together.
I am appalled at the hospital’s conduct on all
fronts, and beyond heartbroken for my family.
I am setting this fund up to help with the
unexpected funeral costs Dan and Jeanne
need will now incur. Any donations are
greatly appreciated.
