Jurmaines Leukaemia Treatment Appeal

To everyone who has been sharing and donated to my cause thus far, I have had a major victory as of yesterday I got news that the Australian government has agreed to fund part of the medications (Azacitidine-Venetoclax) for my treatment on compassionate grounds at this present time. After first being told that I am not able to receive any funding due to my age, it’s is only available on the PBS for people over the age of 65 years of age. We were desperate at this stage as of how to come up with the funds to pay for the best treatment to combat the Acute Myloid Leukaemia, I have. My Girlfriend and family frantically contacted so many Cancer/ Leukaemia Organisations, pleading for help on my behalf, only to have the door literally slammed in their face. My mother contacted our local MP, who may have made a difference with the backflip with the decision with the funding. These medications will be funded for the first month of the treatment process and then I will be reviewed to see if they are helping or not if they do, the government will continue to fund the treatment until it is completed otherwise they will stop and I will have to make a personal decision whether or not I want to continue with the funds raised. If the treatment is a success the donations will be used for any other unforeseen circumstances or medical costs that may arise during or after my treatment such as medications, treatment costs, food supplements etc. these are likely things that may arise due to the complicated nature of my disease. If this treatment does not work I have also been recommended another treatment that could help (Decitabine) which at this point we are unaware whether it is funded or not and I could be in a likely situation as to the one I was just in. In terms of the donations we will be lowering the goal to $35000, you are not obligated to continue donating. I want to keep updating everyone as honestly and transparently during my journey through this battle of mine, I will be doing this by updating everyone with photos of me during my treatment and showing the medications or other treatment items that the donations will be used for. The funds will be specifically used for medical items associated with my treatment. From the bottom of my heart I want to thank everyone for all the support you have shown me in my time of need, it is amazing to see how many people have come together in such a short amount of time to help save my life. I love you all so much and I have no words as to how I say more then thank you to all you amazing people. Please everyone keep safe in these times and stay with your loved ones and families and protect eachother we are all going through something during these difficult times hence why I appreciate every donation from the smallest to the biggest.
