José Francisco Diaz-Granados Ayala (Pancho o Vitolo como le dicen sus amigos) fue diagnosticado con pre-diabetes, por lo que decidió hacerse una cirugía de manga gástrica el 18 de abril de 2017.
Luego de su operación sufrió muchos dolores, debido a que se le generó una fistula en el estómago y los doctores decidieron meterlo otra vez a quirófano.
Cuatro días después se le volvió a abrir la fistula y fue trasladado a otro hospital de emergencia (por peritonitis y fuertes infecciones causadas por bacterias cogidas en el hospital) fue intervenido una vez más, en ese momento los doctores dijeron que tenía un 99% de probabilidades de morir. Pero Pancho desde el primer día ha sido un guerrero y luchó para no dejarse vencer.
En cuidados intensivos, además de la peritoninits y las bacterias mortales que agarró, tuvo que volver a entrar a quirofano de emergencia, al dársele un derrame pleural. Tuvo 2 veces neumonia, y un paro cardiorespiratorio que lo llevó a un coma, ha pasado meses en cama y por esto se le creó una escara en el coxis que llegó hasta el hueso. Pero despertó del coma y siguió luchando.
Han sido más de 3 meses que Pancho ha sufrido los golpes de varias batallas, recibiendo también varias transfusiones de sangre y plaquetas. Todo este tiempo, día y noche, ha contado con el apoyo de sus familiares y amigos, agotando recursos físicos, emocionales y económicos. After surgery Pancho suffered a great deal of pain due to a fistula that was generated in the stomach and the doctors decided to send him back to the operating room.
Four days later the fistula reopened and he was transferred to another emergency hospital (the complications now included a peritonitis and severe infections caused by bacteria picked up at the hospital). Once again he had a surgery at the new hospital and the doctors said he had a 99% chance of dying. However, Pancho has been a warrior since his first surgery and fought not to be defeated.
While recovering in intensive care from that surgery, he had to return to the operating room due to a pleural effusion. Since then, he’s had pneumonia twice, and a cardiorespiratory arrest that took him to a coma. He has spent months in bed and that has also created a stage 4 pressure sore in the coccyx that reached the bone. Once again Pancho woke up from the coma and kept fighting.
It has been more than 3 months that Pancho has suffered the blows of several battles, also receiving several transfusions of blood and platelets. All this time, day and night, he’s had the support of his family and friends, exhausting physical, emotional and economic resources. That's why we turn to your help to cover all hospital expenses.
