Somos José Dager y Simonett Man Ging, hace 10 años nos casamos y hemos sido muy afortunados de poder formar una familia maravillosa con 3 hermosos hijos: Emiliano (7), Ariana (5) y Alexa (1.10). Ellos son el centro de nuestro mundo y junto con la inmensa alegría de ser padres también hemos pasado por momentos muy muy duros que gracias al apoyo incondicional de nuestra familia y la bendición de Dios hemos podido superar. Sin embargo, esta es la prueba más difícil hasta ahora, nuestra bebé Alexa entró al hospital de emergencia hace dos semanas por un virus; a los pocos días nos dijeron que debía ir a cuidados intensivos para poder atenderla mejor ya que el virus había afectado su cerebro. De forma rápida Alexa fue perdiendo sus movimientos y entró en coma. Nada te prepara para ver a un hijo en este estado y aunque los exámenes han demostrado poca actividad cerebral, Alexa nos da señales todos los días que está luchando con todas sus fuerzas para salir adelante.
Aún en esta situación tan difícil no nos damos por vencidos y luchamos por su vida. Estamos llenos de una fe inquebrantable, rodeados del amor de nuestra familia, de nuestros amigos y de tantas personas que sin conocernos han demostrado su solidaridad y su preocupación. Todos nos hemos unido en oración de una forma que nos conmueve y es la fuerza diaria que tanto necesitamos. Sin embargo, hay que hacer mas y con rapidez, cada día que pasa no lo recuperamos.
Aquí en Ecuador los doctores han sido muy buenos y comprometidos con la salud de nuestra Alexa pero no pueden hacer más, no cuentan con los equipos ni los medicamentos para poder tener un diagnóstico más preciso y así encontrar la cura para nuestra pequeña. Es por esta razón que pedimos su ayuda para cubrir los costos que conlleva trasladar a Alexa a Estados Unidos donde podrán encontrar con mayor rapidez la causa de su enfermedad y el tratamiento adecuado para su recuperación. Las enfermedades neurológicas son muy difíciles de afrontar, el camino está lleno de incertidumbre, por eso si bien tenemos la bendición de tener la atención médica cubierta, no sabemos cuánto tiempo durará todo el proceso.
No hay palabras para agradecer su apoyo, su preocupación y su cercanía. Alexa es muy afortunada de estar rodeada de tanto amor, ella es una guerrera y con la bendición de Dios saldremos adelante.

We are José Dager and Simonett Man Ging. We have been married for 10 years and we consider ourselves very fortunate, we have raised a family with three beautiful children: Emiliano (7) Ariana (5) and Alexa (1.10). The three of them are at the center of our life and along with the great joy of being parents we have also gone through some very very difficult times; which we have been able to overcome, thanks to our family’s unconditional support and the Grace of God. However, we are going through our toughest challenge. Our baby Alexa has been hospitalized for the last two weeks because of a virus. Shortly after she was moved to intensive care unit because the virus had reached her brain. Alexa started losing mobility and entered into a coma. Nothing prepares you to see your own child in this state. Although tests show little brain activity, Alexa gives us signs every day that she is fighting with all her heart to overcome this situation.
We are not giving up and we cling on for her life. We are filled with unwavering faith and we’re surrounded by the love of our family, friends and many others, even strangers, that have shown us solidarity and support. Everyone has joined in prayer in a touching way and this has helped us get the strength we need to get through this. But, we must do more and do it fast, we cannot make up for lost time.
Doctors in Ecuador have been excellent and engaged with Alexa’s health. However, they have many limitations, there is a lack of appropriate equipment’s and medicine to determine a proper diagnosis and consequently find a cure for our little girl. We have decided to transfer her to the United States where doctors will be able to give us an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment for her recovery. Neurological diseases are very difficult to deal with, so we will be traveling an uncertain path, and although fortunately we have medical care covered, we have no idea how long this will last.
We ask for your help to cover the cost of transferring care to the United States. There are no words that can express our gratitude for the support, concern and affection. Alexa is very fortunate to be surrounded by so much love. She is a warrior and with God’s blessing we will make it through.
