Junior Site Library Refurbishment

Help us raise £1,500 for the Refurbishment of the Junior Site Library

Dear Parents,
Dr Seuss famously said, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
Today, we are asking for your help to make that happen!

The Journey so far.
Our Junior site library has been in severe need of a facelift for some time. Behind the scenes, a few of us parent library volunteers have been determined to develop the library, so it becomes a more enjoyable and inspirational space for our children to develop a love of reading.
We started to refresh the book selections, updating them and making them more relevant for today’s children but soon realised we had to renovate the actual library itself to provide the best platform to achieve our goal.
That goal has been to make better use of the limited space, introducing comfier seating so they can enjoy just sitting and reading, provide additional bespoke shelf space for more book capacity and create display boards to allow our children to motivate each other with their reading recommendations.
We started the work, raising funds, applied for and won a grant via the RFU, involved partners to help us design a more inspiring library for our children now and in the future – something all childrenat St Mary’s will experience as they progress to the Junior Site. However, plans had to go on pause, but now we can accelerate again to have this in place for the summer term.

What are we asking of you?
We have already raised 60% of the funds we need to make this vision come to life, but we are still short of £1,500 to create an inspiring library space.
We need your help and support to raise that £1,500, so please support this campaign as generously as you can - every £4 or £5 you can give moves us ever closer to that target! If we raise more, we can go further and populate our library with even more books to boost that love of reading forever - helping our children learn more and go to more places.

We are very conscious that we have all been asked to contribute so much over this last year, but on World Book Daywe hope you can find a moment to consider our cause afresh and help deliver that love of reading for all our St Mary’s children.

As J.K. Rowling said, “When in doubt, go to the library.”

Thank you.
