Junior Nationals: Maeve's Alaska Funding

Hi, my name is Maeve Ingelfinger. I am a Junior from Whitefish, MT, currently skiing for Glacier Nordic Ski Team. I experienced success last year at Junior Nationals and am honored to have qualified again this year to represent the Intermountain Division (comprised of MT, UT, ID, and WY) in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Last year, Junior Nationals was held in Minneapolis, MN; there, I gained experience and had an amazing time racing and making friends. I made it onto the podium twice and am striving to earn similar results this year. Those races opened up opportunities for me that I previously had not dreamed existed in terms of my racing career.

This year, I traveled out of Montana for three qualifying races where I raced against U18 and U20 women from across the Western United States to earn the top qualification spot in my division.

The Junior National Qualifiers have been far away and costly, but Junior Nationals will far surpass them. This trip will cost $3,200, plus $500 for flights. None of my success would be possible without my coaches and the skiing community, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to represent Glacier Nordic in Alaska.
