Jump in for Jerome and Jacob!

After completing his first year of graduate school to become a Physician Assistant, my little brother and single dad of an awesome ten year old named Jacob, had to take a break from school to have major back surgery this summer.

The good news is that he made it safely through the multiple level posterior lumbar intervertebral fusion surgery! The not so good news is that he will not receive financial aid while he is out of school. So he faces the long haul of physical recovery, medical bills, repaying the financial aid he received before the surgery and taking care of Jacob on his own.

The medical bill is $9,288 and the financial aid to be repaid is $7,899. He's working now and has started making payments on all fronts. The goal of $12,500 is to cover a portion of these bills and to help make up for the few months of work time lost from being in the hospital and in the first stages of recovery.

As a family we are pitching in by going to Ft. Worth when we can to help with the recovery, day to day things around the apartment and keeping Jacob engaged with activities and things his dad isn't able to do with him right now, but he and Jacob need more help.

We are proud of what it has taken for Jerome to get this far. I'm hoping everyone who can contribute will. No amount is too small. It's not just financial support but a morale boost and encouragement for Jerome to keep moving forward in his dream of making a difference and helping people.
