Juli’s Emergency Surgery

Juli is a gentle 12 year old poodle mix. Recently, she’s been feeling very down. She hasn’t been eating, she’s been lethargic, and has just been slowing down. Her lovely owners took her to the vet and found out that she needs emergency exploratory surgery because the vet believes that she has pyometra. Pyometra is a secondary infection that occurs in the reproductive tract of female dogs. Pyometra can be deadly without surgery to remove the infected uterine lining.

Surgery to correct pyometra can also be very expensive. Juli’s owners are now faced with a very high vet bill that is unavoidable if they want to be able to keep Juli around.
